AI Learning Coach – Goodbye Stress. Hello Flow.
Concept, Automation Design & Prototype (built with Zapier)
The AI Learning Coach is a concept and prototype designed to help learners manage complex study workloads without becoming overwhelmed. The project addresses a common problem in modern learning environments: too many modules, overlapping deadlines, and a lack of clear structure, which often leads to stress and reduced learning performance—an effect well documented in cognitive science.
The goal of the project was to design a system that does more than track tasks. It should actively support learners by analyzing workload, structuring priorities, and preventing overload before it occurs.
The solution is an automated learning assistant that evaluates tasks and deadlines daily and provides structured guidance. The system uses a traffic-light workload model to make cognitive load visible at a glance and helps learners plan work and recovery phases in a balanced way.
Key features of the prototype include:
a workload dashboard with a visual traffic-light system for cognitive load
daily AI-supported analysis of deadlines and workload
smart break recommendations to maintain focus and energy
a zero-overload mode designed to prevent burnout scenarios
mood and well-being tracking to correlate stress levels with workload
tracking of learning progress and certifications
The automation logic was implemented using Zapier, connecting task data, evaluation logic, and user feedback loops into a functional prototype. The system demonstrates how relatively simple automation tools can be used to create meaningful digital assistants that support behavior change and productivity.
The concept is grounded in established behavioral and cognitive principles:
Cognitive offloading, where planning and prioritization are delegated to a system to reduce mental load
Behavioral nudging, encouraging healthy work and learning routines
Just-in-time support, providing timely warnings before overload occurs
This project strengthened my skills in:
product concept development and problem framing
designing behavior-driven digital solutions
automation workflows and prototyping
translating psychological principles into product features
designing dashboards and feedback systems that make complex states easy to understand
The AI Learning Coach demonstrates how digital products can transcend mere efficiency and actively contribute to well-being. By transforming productivity tools into systems, they empower individuals to maintain focus, achieve balance, and sustain their productivity over time.
